3 Healthy, Delicious and Easy Snacks Recommended By A Fitness Expert

When it comes to healthy snacking, fitness expert Jenn Zerling, author of “Breaking the Chains of Obesity, 107 Tools,” recommends ditching the calorie counting. Instead, she says it’s more important to focus on the macronutrients, which are carbohydrates, protein and fat — the nutrients that the body needs most for growth, metabolism and other body functions, according to the McKinley Health Center. So, what does Zerling nosh on to stay fit? Check out her favorite healthy snacks below.

1. White Chocolate Peanut Butter Yogurt

Chobani Non-Fat Plain Greek Yogurt

Try this snack with Chobani Non-Fat Plain Greek Yogurt

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon Peanut Butter Co. White Chocolate Wonderful Peanut Butter
  • 1 8 oz container of Chobani Non-Fat Plain Greek Yogurt
  • Instructions

    Mix 1 tablespoon of Peanut Butter Co. White Chocolate Wonderful Peanut Butter into an 8 oz container of Chobani Non-Fat Plain Greek Yogurt. Enjoy it as a snack or a super yummy dessert!

    Protein: Greek yogurt
    Fat: Peanut butter


    2. Raspberries, Ghirardelli Chocolate Chips and Almonds

  • 1/2 cup of organic raspberries
  • Small handful of Ghirardelli milk chocolate or white chocolate chips
  • Fistful of unsalted almonds
  • Instructions

    Gently mix together. Enjoy.

    Ingredients

  • 1 full cucumber cut into discs
  • 2 oz of wild lox
  • 2 tablespoons of low-fat cottage cheese
  • Instructions

    Stack each cucumber disc with lox and a topping of cottage cheese. They’re great as a snack or healthy appetizer!
